Raphril - Submerge

I want to thank gladrial and her wonderful fict, “Northampton Echoes” for inspiring this. I just loved when the turtles and April and Casey are at the farmhouse. I just love the possibilities it brings! I was so inspired, I actually took some time to take a stab at writing something for this. While I am not a writer whatsoever, and nowhere near the caliber that gladrial can write, I still wanted to give it a shot. Sorry if it’s crappy.

Five minutes. Five minutes since Raphael plunged under the water at the deep lake in the middle of the woods at Northampton. Five minutes of stubbornly sitting, in nothing but her bikini, with her arms wrapped around her knees on the grassy edge of the water getting more aggravated by every minute since his absence. How could he want to go swimming at a time like this!?

They knew. They all did. Leo -- Mikey -- Casey..... and Donnie.... Oh, Donnie. It’d been two weeks since her and the turtle in red were caught making-out on the porch in the middle of the night by none other than Donatello. No matter how much she liked Raphael and tried to steer Donnie away from thoughts of them being anything other than friends -- she did not want Donnie to find out that way..... But it was over and there was no taking it back now. Truthfully, all of them took it in stride, but she was the one who met Donnie’s eyes that night -- as her and Raph were enraptured with nothing but each others lips and flicks of wet tongue, the roaming hands, it was the feeling of eyes on her face that forced her eyes to open mid-kiss. Expecting the chartreuse green of Raphael’s -- she was met with the look of utter betrayal laced in chocolate colored irises of the genius terrapin instead.

Since that night, it had been a series of walking on eggshells and acting naturally as if trying to uphold the small shred of peace they’d been able to scrounge out of living in the middle of nowhere. Raph had never been in higher spirits. It actually started to get on her nerves on how easily he was taking the whole situation. Especially after all of the convincing it took for him to even pursue their relationship in the first place. She buried her head in her crossed arms and groaned at the sheer irony of it all. After a few more moments of self pity, she raised her head and narrowed her eyes at the surface of the water. This was just getting freaking ridiculous -- if we wasn’t coming out, she was going in after him whether he liked it or not.

Getting into the tepid water and swimming a bit from shore, she was completely caught off guard when she felt familiar hands grasping her calves and was only left with a fraction of a second to get a breath before she was pulled quickly underneath the surface. When she opened her eyes underneath the water, she was met with a smug looking Raphael giving her a cheeky smile and a wiggle of his brow ridges. As soon as she was about to punch that smirk right off his adorably stupid face, she let out a few bubbles of precious oxygen as his arms wrapped around her and tugged her tight to his plastron before his lips were pressed insistently over hers. It wasn’t until she closed her eyes and began to kiss him back -- only focusing on him -- that she realized that as crappy as the situation now was -- she wouldn’t trade this stupid big lug for the world. So, screw what the others thought of it -- she did something for herself for a change, and there was nothing in the universe that could make her regret falling for him.
