MJ's "This Is It" Review

Contains spoilers! If you haven't seen the movie, don't read! O_____o

I was able to see MJ's highly anticipated final performance, "This Is It" this past Wednesday, and let me tell you -- ABSOLUTE BRILLIANCE. Besides the obvious fact that he was very thin and his face much different than you might remember, once he strut into dancing, the magic was back. It was as if it was 25 years ago when "Thriller" was first released.

His voice shone through with each performance and even though he forgot words at a few points, during the end pieces of the song "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", the chills his voice gives you are indescribable. His voice was so pure and powerful that it nearly left me breathless just listening to it.

Nearing the end of the movie, I knew what would happen and you forget that during it, it's hard to imagine that this brilliant performer has been deceased for over four months. It doesn't seem real and it seems so unfair that this concert series he had so much of himself in would never be... And I only cried very briefly during the end part but during the movie, I found myself wanting to stand up and cheer each time he finished performing a song.

It was a concert and he was brilliant in every way, shape, and form in it. And at the end of the movie, he performed "Man in the Mirror" and at the last notes, the images slowed and the reality hit that Michael Jackson is really gone. That this incredible singer and dancer that you had been watching for nearly 2 hours was dead. When you watch the movie, you forget that which makes it all the more devastating as you watch it but he was so magical as a performer, he made you forget that.

So, after watching it and I will want to see it again before it leaves theatres, it remains that his greatest comeback that he wanted to show the world will never truly be, but with this amazing footage that was captured before his death, we get a glimpse of it during the movie that at the end, has you craving more which is exactly what Michael would have wanted. So, I would recommend all of his fans and even if you are sceptical of it, you go see it for yourself. I promise, it is worth it.

OHHHH boy, same story with me! Phantom of the Opera was my fave musical for SOOO long (along with Wicked) but Moulin Rouge is quite possibly the most amazing, creative thing EVER.
